RECOMMENDED EXPERTS: recommended experts are makers, service providers and professionals who offer products and services which NOWHOUSE.uk believe to be of a good standard and list on this Website; we act solely as an agent proffering information. However, it is up the individual to confirm for themselves that the products or services offered meet their own standards.  Each recommended expert is known to NOWHOUSE.uk and may/may not proffer annual payment to us in return for appearing on the NOWHOUSE.uk website, depending on personal circumstances and other arrangements they may have with this organisation. All recommended experts agree to conform to our conditions of engagement which are provided to them under separate cover and are expected to adhere to such terms & conditions for the duration of their business appearing on the NOWHOUSE.uk website.  NOWHOUSE.uk recommendations are our opinion only and accuracy should always be confirmed by anyone wishing to enter into a contract with a recommended expert to ensure the standard of workmanship, products and services offered are acceptable to them. NOWHOUSE.uk does not conduct a specific background check on recommended experts or their products or services nor oversees their business activities in any way.  We have no control over the quality, safety, morality, legality or insurance position of any products or services they offer and completeness of any statements, recommendations or instructions contained in the listings on this Website. As such, we do not make any warranties or representations in relation to the goods or services listed on behalf of recommended experts. In particular, we do not warrant or represent that products or services offered by Recommended Experts are suitable in any way including condition, or comply with any representations made in the Recommended Expert listing or that they have the right to provide such services or goods to a customer.  By using this Website you agree that it is your sole responsibility to check, confirm and satisfy yourself as to the accuracy of any information provided on this Website in this association and we disclaim all liability in this regard.

NOWHOUSE.uk processes data in accordance with (a) and (b) detailed below:

 (b) Contract: the processing is necessary for a contract we have with the individual, or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract.

 

HOW NOWHOUSE.uk USES DATA

We collect data to:

  • make contact with recommended experts and members of the public who contact us, via email, newsletter, letter, landline, mobile phone and social media

  • facilitate the recommended expert listing including providing data on our website and in social media, for promotion of recommended experts' products and services to other parties and inclusion in other promotional media

  • generally operate our recommended expert listing, events and podcast.

 

HOW NOWHOUSE.uk PROTECTS DATA

  • All office devices - computers, tablets, and mobile phones - are password protected when not in use.

  • We do not share data with any outside parties unless we make the owner of the data aware we are doing this

  • NOWHOUSE.uk is, where possible, a paperless office, therefore no physical files are kept with personal details

  • All external accounts including PayPal and Wix, where personal data is stored, are password protected.

 

NOWHOUSE.uk CONFIRMS THAT

  • We review the purposes of our processing activities and select the most appropriate lawful basis for each activity.

  • We check that the processing is necessary for the relevant purpose, and are satisfied that there is no other reasonable way to achieve that purpose.

  • We document our decision on which lawful basis applies to help us demonstrate compliance. 

 

NOWHOUSE.uk events: Terms & Conditions for taking part in or attending events hosted by NOWHOUSE.uk on whatever basis, will be provided under separate cover prior to visitors prior to the event taking place.

NOWHOUSE.podcast: 

  • User Accounts and Personal Data: you may need an account to access content recorded by and posted to a digital audio streaming service, and are responsible for keeping your login details confidential. The digital audio streaming service where you access the NOWHOUSE.uk podcast will have their own  privacy policy explaining how your personal data is collected and used by them. 

  • Content and Intellectual Property: you agree to only access our recorded content for personal, non-commercial use, and you cannot infringe on the Creator's intellectual property rights, such as copyrights, images or trademarks. 

  • Advertisements: you will likely encounter advertisements within the podcast, which must be clearly identifiable and not confused with editorial content, according to regulations such as the UK's CAP Code. 

  • Age and Eligibility: there may be age restrictions in place, with some digital audio streaming services requiring users to be 13 or older and obtain parental consent if they are under the age of majority in their country before listening or watching our recorded content  - please check requirements before accessing the NOWHOUSE.uk podcast. 

  • Geographic Restrictions: the NOWHOUSE.uk podcast service or content might only be available in specific countries, so you must reside in a location where the service is offered. 

 

GENERAL

  • No provision of these Terms & Conditions may be enforced by a third party under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999. 

  • If for any reason any term of these Terms & Conditions becomes invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms remain valid and enforceable. 

  • Regardless of the location of a Participant who visits the Website, takes part in a NOWHOUSE.uk event, listens or watches a podcast or joins as a Recommended Expert, these Terms & Conditions will be exclusively governed by, and construed under, the laws of England and Wales. In the event of any dispute, the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. 

  • Any complaints abut this Website, the NOWHOUSE.uk podcast or our events, should be emailed to us with full details in the first instance and will receive a response within seven days of receipt from NOWHOUSE.uk. Email: inbox@nowhouse.uk.
